Finally went to see Ground Zero, for the first time. I think the last time I passed through the area was September 10th, or the Friday before. A little disorienting would be an understatement. But the area has been cleaned up and looks almost back to normal, if you face in the opposite direction. The 1 and 9 train are running through again. The PATH should return in 12/2003. On a brighter note, the HBLR service to Hoboken starts next Sunday (9/29). I plan to abuse my 90 minute train pass that day.

Taking a ride in Edgewater, NJ today looking at all the new construction. How many new apartment complexes between Jersey City and Fort Lee? Is there really an endless supply of people desprate to pay $2K a month for "luxury living"? I look at my office and and realize it's an hour away no matter where I live. I guess Manhattan is the business center it is because it was such a big trading port, and where there's trade, there's banks. Where there's money, there's entertainment, culture, and art. That's my misinformed history lesson in a nutshell.
